Naming Ceremony
Naming ceremonies are performed to listen and tune into your baby’s to-be-decided name, or to officially honor and celebrate the name already given. Many of us are all too familiar with the name-calling and name-shame that can occur as young children. The Naming Ceremony infuses dignity and proud ownership so that your child can grow into her/his name with positive self-esteem and his/her spirit shining. These ceremonies happen amongst a circle of family and friends or within the intimacy of the mother, baby, and partner. When a pregnant mother does not have a parenting partner she may choose to enjoy the process with simply she and the baby, while some mothers prefer to invite a close friend, or supportive family member.
